Fortunately, this is not true, but another false death report.

I've been trying to find news about the singer's current health state, but all I could come up with are the original news article from Trinidad Express announcing that Sparrow is hospitalized in New York, and a statement from sept 11 that he is in a coma, but not dead.
I couldn't find anything more recent.
Since there is no news, I suppose that his situation is stable. As his family states that they want to protect his privacy, I suggest that we do the same.

It is reported that the Mighty Sparrow returned to Trinidad and Tobago last week, and in good health.

"DESPITE being in a coma in New York a few months ago, Calypso King of the world and national icon Slinger Francisco, better known as The Mighty Sparrow, returned to this country yesterday walking on his own, singing impromptu calypsoes and looking forward to performing for the Carnival season."
