Funny that you chose this painting of mine as a banner!
I also cohost a program called The Motherland Influence with another guy, DJ Graybeard. We've been presenting this program for about 20 years now. We alternate 1/2 hour shifts playing African, Latin & Caribbean music. Very heavy on the African music. The show airs every Sunday 5:00-7:00 PM

David I chose it because I think it's a great self portrait. as a sort of artist myself I can appreciate  the  humour.. ;D
I was actually going to make a separate  post to for the Motherland Influence. It's a great show, a wide range of music

The,re seems to be no Congolese music on Washington DC area stations now so I will try my best to catch the show!!

There were a few. Ibrahim Ba hosted one on the UDC station (I think).
Then there was another on the Pacifica station. That one was really great.
